Prairie Wetlands Learning Center

The Fergus Falls Public School District developed a unique program to provide education services in an immersive model that had 4th grade students attend classes at the Prairie Wetlands Interpretive Center. The district saw the success of the program and expanded it. The Learning Center provides an additional four, full classrooms separate from the interpretive center, and is designed to demonstrate sustainable design concepts, including user-controlled natural ventilation, seasonal passive solar heating, daylighting, and sustainable materials.
