Otter Tail County Government Service Center

With the goal of exemplifying adaptive reuse and green building principles, the 1948 State Hospital Facility was transformed into the base of operations for the County’s administrative offices, land offices, and human service functions. The exterior of the building was rehabilitated and the interior was reconstructed with modern systems and finishes. This facility minimizes its environmental impact with the use of steam energy from a municipal waste burner, tight building envelope, passive solar recovery, and natural daylighting.
